American Mahjong: The Charleston
American Mahjong has a mandatory 3 round Charleston.
If you are ever confused about what to do, just read the yellow bubble in the center right of the screen.
Round 1
- Pass 3 tiles to the player on your right
- Pass 3 tiles to the player across from you
- Pass 0-3 tiles to the player on your left
- During a physical game, you would re-pass tiles passed by the player before you without looking at them (blind pass)
- The Mahjong 4 Friends software handles the blind pass for you. Just pass 0-3 tiles, however many you want.
Passing 3 tiles. Click proceed to pass.
Round 2
- Any player can stop the second round of the Charleston. On Mahjong 4 Friends, stop the second round by passing 0 tiles.
- Pass 3 tiles to the player on your left
- Pass 3 tiles to the player across from you
- Pass 0-3 tiles to the player on your right

Round 3 (Courtesy Pass)
- Pass 0-3 tiles to the player across from you
- You and the person across from you should agree on the number of tiles being passed.
- If you cannot communicate with your opponent (bots, for example), pass tiles in order of preference. If your opponent passes fewer tiles than you, the extra tiles will be returned.
Passing 2 tiles during courtesy pass. Click proceed to pass.
